Translations

The translation drop menu is found in the admin toolbar and allows you to swtich between languages for your OpenEdit site.

Using the translations drop menu to translate your site:

Sign In
Select a language from the drop menu
Navigate to the page you wish to edit
Click the pencil icon, make changes, and press save

As long as you have the correct langauge selected in the drop menu, OpenEdit will allow you to edit the web page just like any other.

How it works?

OpenEdit makes a duplicate copy of the selected web page in the tranlations folder. When that language is selected, OpenEdit displays the tranlated content vice the default content in the primary language. If a tranlated copy of the selected page is not available, OpenEdit displays your content in the default language.

note - be sure to add the translation drop menu to your web page to provide site visitors with the option of switching between languages.
