| draft site | Every OpenEdit Website has a draft site and a live site. The draft site is only visible to when Signed In with an OpenEdit account that has the Admin Toolbar Permission selected. To switch between your draft site and your live site, use the View Live / Draft Site icon in the Admin Toolbar. This powerful OpenEdit feature allows site owners to make changes to their OpenEdit draft site without impacting their live site until the changes are ready for Approval. |
| include | An include refers to any file within your OpenEdit Website that is included into the rest of your site using a $pages.include command. A common example is your layout which is most oftern comprised of elements such as a common header, footer, and menu file. The content of each page is often an editable include allowing the user to edit their content directly without being able to make unwanted changes to the overall layout. |
| live site | Every OpenEdit Website has a draft site and a live site. The live site is comprised of all approved files and is visible to anyone visiting your OpenEdit Website. When Signed In with an OpenEdit account that has the Admin Toolbar Permission selected, you can switch between your draft site and your live site using the View Live / Draft Site icon in the Admin Toolbar. |
| plug-in | A plug-in refers to an OpenEdit module such as the Blog, eCommerce, Events Calendar, etc. The term plug-in is used to illustrate that a base installation of OpenEdit includes all the online editing tools with each additional module requiring installed. |
